On June 2 Athletics track Brakkenstein transformed into the venue for the Nijmegen Global Athletics. The NGA-committee had established many changes this year. Sebastiaan Gremmen and Saskia Brouwers were part of the committee on behalf of NSAV 't Haasje and many other Haasjes were volunteering. In the evening a few Haasjes competed in the "up the clock races". In the 800m race Marco Otten and Margo Heurman started. Marco won his serie with 1:57.08 minutes and Margo ran a great race in 2:25.56 minutes. In the 1500m race Kamiel Jacobs took part. In an exciting race an end sprint showed who was going to finish 2nd and 3rd. Kamiel crossed the finish line 3rd in 4:02.95 minutes. It won't take long before he will run below the four minute barrier. Last of all Luuk Wijering started in the 5000m race. His goal was to break 16 minutes. He achieved his goal and may be congratulated with a new PB of 15:59.06 minutes!
What a lovely athletics day it was! Top-class sports and exciting up the clock races afterwards. We are already looking forward to next year and we're anxious to know what changes next edition will bring.
