Zevenheuvelennacht & Zevenheuvelenloop

On 18 and 19 november the Seven Hills Races took place. 
No less than 33 Haasjes were running in both events. On Saturday night a large group of Haasje supporters was standing at the Groesbeekseweg-Gelderselaan intersection for the Zevenheuvelennacht. It was hard to spot all the Haasjes in the crowd, so the group missed some of them, although most of them were cheered on loudly. After the Kwakkenberg's climb the first participants came back already. All previous editions a speed bump at a dark section of the course caused many people to trip and fall. This year the organization lighted up this place. Less sensation for the supporters, but way better for all participant. The Haasjes did well! Some were more happy than others about their result, but overall everyone did a great job!
After a good night's sleep the big race was going to start on Sunday. Elite runners from all over the world were standing at the start line anxious for the race to start. Behind the elites the Haasjes among many other runners had the same feelings too. Joshua Cheptegei aimed to break the world record, but he came 2 seconds short. When he finished it took another ten minutes before the first Haasje would cross the finish line. In the rain and the cold a lot of PBs were broken during this beautful autumn run. The Haasjes are already looking forward to next year to beat their time again! With another year's practice they should be able to come a little bit closer to the world record.
