Op 29 en 30 april is het zo ver, de 50ste Batavieren race. Een flinke estafette beginnend in ons eigen pittoreske Nijmegen waarna de weg zal vervolgen naar onze oosterburen. Vervolgens zal er via de achterhoek met ons leger Batahazen naar het prachtige Twente worden getrokken om daar de campus onveilig te maken. Ruim 175 kilometer zal de denkbeeldige fakkel worden gedragen, verdeeld over 25 etappes gelopen door de Hazen.
En alsof dat nog niet inschrijvingswaardig genoeg was zal er na de finish, om 18:00h, de dak van de campus worden afgeblazen tijdens een groot festijn tot in de late uurtjes.

In 1972 a few students from Nijmegen went to Sweden to run a big relay, which they liked so much they decided to organise their own the following year. They chose the route the Bataven used in 50 b.c., this route was following the Rhine. Because of problems with the infrastructure on the route, for the second edition(1974) they decided to go to Twente instead of Amsterdam. Ever since the route has stayed almost the same and on the 29th and 30th of April, 50 years later there is another Batavierenrace.
Of course the Batahazen will join this competition as well as the big party starting at 18.00h. If you want to join our team (which you do) register below.
