Competitions
Dutch Student Championships
Eight NSKs are evaluated every year by the Dutch Student Athletics Federation ZeuS distributed among the various SAVs. If you want to participate in the NSKs on the track (i.e. track, indoor, all-around and teams), you need a competition license from the Athletics Union. You do not need a license for all other NSKs, so everyone can participate! After each NSK you can have a nice meal together and/or party in the student city where the competition is being held. Curious about what kind of NSKs there are? Then read on :).
Members of NSAV 't Haasje are active in competitions throughout the Netherlands. Competitions come in all different shapes and sizes. From student competitions such as NSK's and Batavierenrace to competition competitions and NL's. We also organize our own club competitions. Each Hare has his or her own goal and depending on this you can decide for yourself which competitions you participate in. Whether that means reaching a National Championship final or being the last one left at the party after the Bata. Whatever your goal, depending on the season and your discipline, there are different competitions throughout the year. Curious about which competitions Haasjes participate in? Then read on below or check the competition calendar!
Competition member
To be eligible to participate in a number of these competitions on behalf of 't Haasje, it is important that you are a competition member of 't Haasje. You can apply for this through the secretary, who will assist you further. Below you can see which Dutch Student Championships these are and for which exceptions apply. Furthermore, they are described in more detail below.
The Zevenheuvelenloop (Seven Hills Run) is one of the most famous running events in the Netherlands and is held annually in and around Nijmegen. The 15-kilometer course takes runners along a varied, rolling route through the woods and over the famous "seven hills" that give the race its name.
The race is known for its fast, top-notch times. Internationally renowned runners regularly participate, but recreational runners also feel at home thanks to the enthusiastic atmosphere and the large crowds along the sidelines. For many runners, the Zevenheuvelenloop is a great autumn challenge and an ideal training goal.
The day before, the Zevenheuvelennacht (Seven Hills Night) takes place in Nijmegen's city center. During this lively evening run (approximately 7 kilometers), participants run through atmospherically lit streets, cheered on by music and spectators along the route. The Zevenheuvelennacht is accessible and focuses primarily on fun and exercising together, making it the perfect warm-up for the sporty weekend.
Have you always wanted to run fast across the Campus? Then the CampusRun is for you! This is a fun 5 km running race across the campus of Radboud University and it is a good training run for the Batavieren Race that will take place soon afterwards!
't Haasje has been organizing this cross together with AV Cifla for many years. The acclaimed and at the same time infamous stairs at the Leemkuil must be climbed several times (but thanks to the NSK stair race, bunnies are of course known for climbing stairs) and the course mainly consists of beautiful forest paths, buried under snow or mud. There is a choice between the short cross of 3600m and the long cross of 8400m
Next Generation Athletics (NGA) is an international top-level athletics competition organized by Nijmegen Athletics, Cifla, and 't Haasje. The competition focuses entirely on the middle distances: 400 meters, 800 meters, 1500 meters, 5000 meters, and 3000 meters Steeplechase.
During NGA, top national and international athletes come to Nijmegen to run fast times. For many, the competition is a key opportunity to improve their personal best or qualify for major tournaments like the European Championships (EC), World Championships (WC), or even the Olympic Games. Thanks to the strong field of competitors and fast heats, NGA is known as an ideal competition for achieving top times.
In addition to the main program for elite athletes, NGA also offers opportunities for other runners:
A preliminary program especially for fanatic competitive athletes who want to run a strong series.
't Haasje organizes this annual event together with Nijmegen athletics. There are always many different events on offer, such as javelin throwing, long jump, triple jump and a 5km. During this evening competition there are always many Hares who participate or volunteer!
During this NSK you can participate in events of your choice, and you can also participate in the relay events as a team. Many athletes participate in this NSK every year, so in addition to the necessary sporting achievements, there is also room for fun.
