We have a trainer for every type of training, who briefly introduce themselves below:
MiLa
We have two Mila trainers:
Miranda Boonstra
Since April 2017 I have been able to train the MiLa runners at 't Haasje. I am not a standard trainer, because I am not a man and still active myself
athlete. But, you are in luck, because I am stubborn and know everything about running. As a PhD in Movement Science, a graduated physiotherapist, and a fifteen-time Dutch Middle-distance champion, I am sure I can get you excited about the middle and longer distances.
As an athlete, I switched from the steeplechase to the marathon in 2010; both distances with many obstacles along the way. I hope to teach you something about technique, thresholds, threshold training, abdominal muscles, lactic acid build-up, the steeplechase, 10km pace, 5km pace, balance, strength, accelerations, and the MONA fartlek.
However, I think the most important thing is that you find running the most fun sport there is. I let you walk in the forest, on the road and on the track, flat or with hills and sometimes with an obstacle... who says running is boring?
Thyme from Bon
I have been the trainer of the Monday middle-distance group at 't Haasje for a year and a half. In addition to this, I am involved in everything related to sports through my studies in Sports Science. I believe it is important that everyone enjoys themselves and that there is laughter during training. A healthy dose of humor is certainly not lacking, but naturally, we also work on our goals, big or small.
I played football for many years myself, but I have since drifted into the running world. I may not be the most motorically gifted, so I mainly chose to enjoy running laps and discover how fun and versatile running can be. With that experience, I hope to primarily convey enjoyment and motivation to my group.
Should you run into me on the court, don't hesitate to have a chat.
Sprint
We have two (hurdles/) sprint trainers:
Branco van Minnen (sprint)
In June 2021 I started as a Thursday trainer of the sprinters and hurdlers of 't Haasje. Although I have never had a group of 'adults' under my care before, I think I have enough to teach you a thing or two. I have been participating in athletics since I was 6 and specialized in long sprint events at AAV SISU and MPM Hengelo. This has resulted in medals at, among others, the NSK Track, NSK Indoor, NSK Teams, NSK Meerkamp, NSK Ekiden, the Batavierenrace and the National Championship 4x100m. I have now switched to the MiLa and I train 3 times a week at Nijmegen Athletics. I combine this with, among other things, my work as a biomechanical engineer in orthopedics. In addition, I have been an (AT3-certified) trainer of various pupil and junior groups for many years. I hope to be able to use all my knowledge, skills and experience to improve your performance and, above all, to have fun in athletics. Based on a structured plan, the training sessions will be varied and adapted to the circumstances and the level of the athletes. In short: everyone is welcome!
Hidde Leenders (hurdles / sprint)
In May 2022 I started as a Thursday trainer for the hurdlers and sprinters of 't Haasje. I am also the creator of the sport-specific strength plans. In the meantime, I have had babies and grandparents in my care. When it comes to swimming lessons, athletics training, strength training or gym lessons. I have done it all.
I have been practicing athletics at AV Oss '78 since I was 12 years old. I started as a heptathlete and as a C-junior I discovered my passion for the long hurdles. In 2016 I had to run a 1000m at the end of the all-around event, with which I took first place. A few days later the former trainer called my father and asked if I wanted to come and train in Nijmegen. From 2019 onwards I exchanged Oss for Nijmegen and specialized in the 400m and 800m. I came 4th in the Netherlands on these components a number of times. Very sad, but we'll deal with it.
I combine my passion for athletics with my Physiotherapy studies, which I started in 2021. My vision is to make everyone enjoy exercising and create a safe environment. Working from a plan, we hope to achieve our goals together. Whether this concerns fun or a Dutch championship. I also want to share my knowledge, skills and experience with you with a healthy dose of humor and in a creative way. If you see me on the track, don't hesitate to contact me. I do not bite.
Technical
We have two technical trainers:
Michiel Bibbe
My interest in coaching started at the age of fourteen when I started the Junior-D training to give. Later switched to Juniors-C and then completed the BAT-3 training rounds. In recent years, my studies have made it increasingly difficult to join my home club Still have to give AV Argo training, so I ended up at 't Haasje!
I myself specialize in the throwing events, but also the sprint and jumping I know enough parts :).
Nowadays you see me more on the survival track (NSSV FEL) than on the athletics track or in the college banks because I have been working as a Calculator/Engineer for several years an installation company.
Tom van Schijndel
After two years on the board, I still couldn't let go of this wonderful club. That's why I try to bring some technical experience to those who are interested. I'm a decathlete myself, so I have experience with most disciplines. Javelin throwing has always been one of my favorite disciplines, and it's the focus of my training sessions. I believe it's important to have a good atmosphere in a training group, but also that people learn something. That's why I try to let everyone train at their own level and provide individual guidance. The great advantage of javelin throwing is that it lends itself so well to it. Whether you're a beginner or were born with a javelin in your hand, I'll do my best to work with you to bring out the best version of a javelin thrower in you. Enough advertising, feel free to join us sometime! Who knows, you might even give javelin throwing a try! to like.
